IML – Home

Those who write and contribute valuable information to their field have a better chance of advancing their careers. What stops many people from putting their expertise in writing is that writing takes a lot of time.

Idea Markup Language (IML) promises to make writing easier by merging research, outlining, drafting, and editing into a process that allows writers to zoom in to the details and zoom out to the big picture in real time. Experts can use IML to structure their articles and send it off to writers. Writers can use it to move to get their thoughts out and restructure works without getting hung up on sentence execution or updating an outline. (Outlines can become outdated quickly.)

The operators of IML are defined here.

IML was born on June 16, 2010 by David Eisaiah Engel. Engel believes that IML should be completely open-source and free for the public to use commercially and privately.

The goal of the IML development project is to:

  • Test and refine the IML framework
  • Make IML operators easy to use.
